Our Company has made a substantial investment in
distilling equipment that has been designed
according to the European standards for distillers.

Our distillery follows the steam distillation process.
This method is accomplished using dehumidified,
dry steam that passes through the distiller.
Even the slightest amount of humidity in the
distillation facility can cause damaging oxidation
of the essential oil compounds.

Loading & Pressing
the plant material

The process begins before the insertion of the plant material
into the distiller. Initially the plant material is transported
with conveyor belts and inserted into the distiller by a rotating
hopper to distribute it properly.

The plant material is then compressed with the help of a
mechanical press to ensure the proper utilization and
distribution of the whole plant product inside the distiller,
allowing the dry steam to pass properly. An advantage of this
automated process is the reduction of the raw material’s
stay-time in the loading area (the quality of the plant
does not degrade).

Throughout the process, our distillers take into
consideration the speed of steam being applied,
its pressure, as well as the supply of steam, all
variables that can affect the final distilled product.
Because our distillation process is supervised under
such rigorous standards, we avoid not only spoilage
of quality but also any loss in final quantity of extract.

Distillation process

Our distillery follows the dry steam distillation method, in which steam is generated in a steam boiler and
then inserted through the plant material. We have 8 10,000lt dry steam distillers made of Inox 316.

Each distiller is equipped with a humidity elimination system to maintain the good quality of the incoming steam,
contributing to the better quality of the produced essential oils.

The mechanical equipment that frames the distillers is the most modern and suitable for the excellent quality
of the essential oils produced.

Quality control

The process is carried out under the strict supervision of
qualified personnel. A number of parameters are taken into
account such as steam velocity, pressure and supply to the
distiller, in order to avoid possible deterioration in quality
as well as losses in the final quality of the distillate.

Final product

Our goal is to bring satisfaction to our customers through
our products. We encourage you to try Verdus BioHerbs S.A
and see the difference for yourself!

Storage & preservation

The essential oils are stored in stainless steel tanks
made of Inox 316 and kept at low temperatures. The tanks
are then filled with nitrogen gas resulting in the removal
of oxygen, preventing any alterations in the quality of
essential oil due to oxidation.

Because it is a safe, inert gas, nitrogen is an excellent
replacement for oxygen or supplemental gas in food packaging
and manufacturing. Increased nitrogen preserves freshness,
protects the nutrients, and prevents aerobic microbial growth.
